Two teenage football players have been hospitalised following a serious crash involving an e-bike and a car in Farnborough

Hampshire Constabulary say the collision happened at around 6.30pm on Friday 1st May at the junction of Ladywood Avenue and Whetstone Road.

Nicole and Lexi, from the Farnborough FC U15 Girls team, were riding an e-bike when they collided with a blue Ford Fiesta.

They were taken to hospital with serious injures.

Their team coach, Mike Jones has set up a fundraiser to help their recovery, including specialist physiotherapy and equipment, to get them back on the pitch:

"Cruelly, the girls will miss out on the Cup Final they’ve worked so hard to reach in two weeks' time. While they should be on the pitch leading the team, whether it's realistic or not, our only wish now is for them to be well enough to be out of the hospital and cheering the remaining girls on from the sidelines at the final.

"We will be playing for them.

"Although the team has just secured the Division 2 league title at U15s, we are holding off on all celebrations. We have made the collective decision that we cannot and will not celebrate the girls success until Coley and Lex are back with us to share it.

"A league title win means nothing to us without every single girl who played their part being there."

Nearly £7,000 has been raised so far with 230 donations. The goal is to reach £10,000.
