A 16 year old boy has been charged with robbery
A 16-year-old boy has been charged with robbery following an incident on a footpath in Bramley.
The victim was with friends near Birtley Road on the 18th of March when their group was approached by two young men.
The victim, who is under 16, was assaulted and robbed at knifepoint.
Two people were arrested the following day. One of them, a 16-year-old boy who cannot be named for legal reasons, has now been charged.
A man in his 20s has been released with no further action.
Detective Sergeant Matt Griffiths, who is leading the investigation, said: “We fully appreciate the concern a crime of this nature causes. On receiving the report, officers acted swiftly to investigate and identify any suspects. A person has now been charged with robbery and will proceed through the court system.”
