Hampshire Police are appealing for witnesses following a series of public disturbances at a supermarket in Fleet.

The incidents happened on 17th March, starting shortly before 9pm when a man reportedly ran along Fleet Road near Branksomewood Road, asking others to fight.

Security staff at the Sainsbury’s store on Fleet Road alerted police when they suspected a male of shoplifting. The male allegedly threatened them with a broken bottle neck.

Police arrived soon after and arrested a 16-year-old boy from Crondall on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon, theft, criminal damage, and common assault.

The teenager has been released on bail with conditions, pending further inquiries.

No serious injuries were reported.

Any witnesses are asked to contact Hampshire Police.
