Teen found not guilty in Ewell murder trial
Teenager cleared in case involving 2025 stabbing incident
A teenage boy has been acquitted in a murder trial following a serious stabbing incident on Kingston Road, Ewell, which occurred in December 2025.
The trial at Kingston Crown Court concluded with the jury finding the 15-year-old defendant not guilty of murder, manslaughter, or conspiracy to commit robbery.
The distressing incident unfolded on 9th December 2025 when emergency services were called after 23-year-old Alfonso (Alfie) Sibley was fatally injured. Despite efforts from the police, paramedics, and passers-by, Mr Sibley sadly died at the scene.
Three teenagers were initially charged in connection with the events. While a 15-year-old faced charges of murder and conspiracy, the other two individuals, aged 15 and 17, were accused of conspiracy to commit robbery in early 2026.
All three defendants have now been cleared of their respective charges. Their identities remain protected under legal restrictions.
Detective Chief Inspector Kimball Edey from the Major Crime Team extended condolences to Mr Sibley’s family.
"Our thoughts remain with Alfonso’s family, who have requested privacy at this time - they wish to thank both the members of the public who were with Alfie in his final moments and witnesses who supported the investigation."
The family has asked for privacy as they cope with their loss.
