Legal and General House, located on St Monicas Road in Kingswood, is set within 19 hectares of green belt land. The planning design aligns with a previous application approved in 2019.

Reigate and Banstead Borough Council's planning committee approved the development on Wednesday, 9th September, underscoring its necessity to fund repairs to the listed building and ensure its future use.
Despite disappointment over the lack of on-site affordable housing due to budget constraints, Councillor Sam Walsh expressed mixed sentiments about the building, acknowledging the merit of its redevelopment, especially the integration of a standalone leisure facility.
Councillor Michael Blacker praised the inclusion of a sports centre, citing its potential benefit to the community.
