Surrey officer guilty of stalking after using tracking devices
PC Jake Mullarkey to be sentenced next month
A Surrey Police officer has been found guilty of stalking at Brighton Magistrates' Court on 24th June 2026.
Jake Mullarkey, aged 35, faced charges after a victim reported finding an electronic tracking device in her car on 27th July 2024, suspecting she was being stalked by PC Mullarkey.
He was arrested the following day and suspended from the police force.
The tracking device was discovered wrapped in black tape and concealed in the wheel well of the victim's car boot.
Mullarkey admitted to placing the device in the car, claiming it was due to safety concerns.
However, phone data showed over 600 uses of an app linked to the device between 14th July 2024 and 27th July 2024.
Further investigation revealed another magnetic car tracker in Mullarkey’s possession, along with an email order for an additional tracking device.
PC Mullarkey is set to be sentenced at Brighton Magistrates' Court on 21st July.
