Southern Water says it's stepping up efforts in Hampshire, Sussex and Kent to tackle rising groundwater after recent heavy rain.

It tells us teams are using tankers at multiple sites and working day and night to prevent sewer flooding and protect homes and schools.

Crews will be on duty 24/7, diving on hotspots as groundwater shifts and rises.

They have deployed nearly 80 tankers to 26 sites and have apologised for any noise or disruption.
