Short haul trips are expected to lead the way for passengers travelling out of Gatwick this Easter, the airport says.

The most popular choices for a trip away include Barcelona, Malaga, Alicante and Dublin.

Among long haul destinations, Orlando, Shanghai and Cancun rank amongst top picks for a bank holiday getaway.

It's as the airport braces for Easter Sunday to be it's busiest day - with 800 flights expected.

Jonathan Pollard, its Chief Commercial Officer, said: “With new airlines and routes taking off over Easter and into summer, our growing global network gives passengers even more choice – while we stay focussed and committed to delivering an excellent experience."

The airport recently welcomed Jet2, Air France, Condor, Eurowings and Animawings to its fleet - and last year found itself ranked London's best for passenger experience.
