Seven arrested after Caterham attempted vehicle theft

A total of seven people were arrested following an attempted vehicle theft in Caterham on New Years Day.

Police were called to Tupwood Scrubbs Road around 10.20pm following reports of an attempted theft of a car.

Two vehicles believed to be connected to the offence were stopped at Cobham Services on the A3 around 5am.

Seven people – three men in their 30s, two men in their 20s, and two teenage boys, were arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm or imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence and attempted robbery. They are currently in police custody and enquiries are ongoing.
