Surrey Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious collision in Laleham earlier today.

Officers were called to Ashford Road shortly before 10.45am this morning (Thursday, 20 August) following reports of a collision involving a tipper style van and a pedestrian.

The pedestrian, a man in his 20s, was taken to hospital with serious injuries, where he remains.

The driver of the van stopped at the scene and cooperated fully with police.

Ashford Road was closed between Gloucester Crescent and Charles Road for several hours to allow officers to carry out initial enquiries but has now reopened.

"We are asking anyone who may have witnessed this collision, or who may have CCTV, dashcam, or helmet cam footage that may have captured all or part of this incident, to get in touch."
