Royal Surrey emergency department sees record attendance
Patients advised to consider alternative NHS services for non-life-threatening conditions
The A&E department at the Royal Surrey Hospital experienced its highest-ever number of attendances, with 346 individuals requiring care on Monday (5 October).
Due to the ongoing high demand, patients with non-serious or non-life-threatening conditions may experience long waiting times.
The Trust recommends considering other NHS services, such as local pharmacies, GP practices, Urgent Treatment Centres, and NHS 111, for quicker assistance with less urgent health issues.
In cases of serious or life-threatening illnesses or injuries, visiting the emergency department or calling 999 remains advised.
The Trust has thanked the public for their cooperation.
