Police in Bordon are investigating a serious incident where two dogs killed a sheep and injured several more.

The incident occurred on Monday 28th September, when the dogs entered a field opposite Hartleywood Farm on Hartley Lane between 5:20pm and 6:00pm.

Officers are appealing for information to identify the owner of the dogs, described as medium build with black fur and tan markings. The dogs were wearing collars, and one had a brightly coloured bow, possibly yellow.

Five injured sheep had to be put to sleep due to their injuries, and police want to speak to anyone who may know the dogs' owner.

Anyone with information should call 101, using reference 44260475459, or report online through the Hampshire Police website. Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via their website.

Police remind dog owners that causing worry to livestock is a criminal act, and uncontrolled dogs can be shot to prevent attacks. Most owners are responsible, but incidents like this can lead to distress and financial loss for livestock keepers.

For the welfare of both livestock and dogs, owners should keep dogs on leads or under control around livestock, ensure they remain visible and do not stray off public access paths.
