Police appeal following serious collision in Chertsey
It follows reports of a collision between a car and a motorbike on Saturday evening
Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious collision in Chertsey on Saturday evening (17 January).
Officers were called to Chertsey Bridge Road at 7.55pm on Saturday, 17 January following reports of a collision between a car and a motorbike.
A man in his teens was taken to hospital with life changing injuries and the driver of the car, a 37-year-old man from Fetcham, who failed to stop at the scene was arrested shortly after for causing serious injury by dangerous driving, failing to stop at a road traffic collision, driving whilst unfit through drink, driving whilst over the prescribed limit of alcohol and driving a vehicle in a dangerous condition. He has since been released under investigation.
Police now want to speak to the driver of a dark coloured Renault Clio and a Royal Mail worker who may have witnessed the collision.
The suspects vehicle stopped by the roundabout junction with Littleton Lane, Shepperton Road and Laleham Road, outside Shepperton Studios shortly after the collision.
Officers are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information and dash-cam footage that could support their investigation.
