Plans have been submitted for a new 420-place primary school in Bordon, set to bolster education provision in response to the town's growing population.

The proposed school would feature a specialist Special Educational Needs (SEN) resource, catering for up to 10 pupils, and would be situated on land to the south of the larger Whitehill and Bordon development, near Havannah Way.

This site, spanning approximately 2.37 hectares, was previously used as a Ministry of Defence training ground but has seen the removal of most old structures, though evidence of buried remains persists.

The land has also recently been used for stockpiling materials related to the wider development until these were largely removed in 2021.

Modern Campus Design

Plans for the school include a modern campus comprising a main hall, music and drama studio, library, and an ICT-rich learning resource centre.

Dedicated SEN and parental support rooms are part of the design, alongside 14 classrooms, a specialist resource provision classroom, group rooms, and outdoor playing field pitches.

The school would employ around 47 full-time equivalent staff, including a headteacher, 19 class teachers—among them a special needs coordinator—16 teaching assistants, and 11 support staff.

SEN Provision

The SEN provision proposed aims to assist pupils facing high anxiety, school avoidance, or mental health challenges, as well as those with autism or similar traits.

The building is designed to meet the BREEAM "Excellent" standard, prioritising energy efficiency and sustainability.

If approved, this school would contribute significantly to the ongoing regeneration of Whitehill and Bordon, offering essential school places for families in the area.
