A Metropolitan Police officer, PC Benjamin Jackson, is set to appear at Guildford Magistrates’ Court on 4th August after being charged with sexual offences involving a minor.

The 28-year-old officer was charged on 27th May with seven counts of engaging in non-penetrative sexual activity with a girl aged 13 to 15.

Additionally, he faces one count of causing or inciting a girl within the same age group to engage in sexual activity.

Following the charges, Jackson has been bailed in preparation for his upcoming court appearance.

The case raises critical discussions around the safeguarding responsibilities of those in positions of authority.
