Man in his 30s dies following collision in Chertsey

Police appeal for witnesses and footage

Police are appealing for information following a fatal collision involving a car and a motorcycle in Chertsey early this morning.

The incident occurred at the junction of Accommodation Road and Longcross Road near the Old School Café at 6am today (Tuesday, 13th January).

The rider of the motorcycle, a man in his 30s, tragically died at the scene. Police have confirmed his next of kin have been informed.

A 35-year-old man from Chertsey has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by driving without due care and attention.

Witnesses sought

Surrey Police are asking anyone who was in the area between 5.50am and 6.05am or who may have witnessed the collision to get in touch.

The investigation team is also seeking any CCTV, dashcam, mobile phone, or helmet camera footage that may have captured all or part of the incident.

Longcross Road remains closed between Kitsmead Lane and Lyne Lane while investigations are ongoing.
