Man dies after being found injured in Sutton Green roadside collision
Police appeal for witnesses and footage to assist investigation

A man in his 60s has died following a collision in Sutton Green, prompting Surrey Police to appeal for witnesses and footage in connection to the incident.
The injured man was discovered lying in a ditch by the side of New Lane on Wednesday evening, 21st January 2026, after being spotted by members of the public. Emergency services were called to the scene at approximately 5.10pm, and the man was taken to hospital.
Despite treatment, he passed away from his injuries two days later, on 23rd January.
Detective Sergeant Dan Smith, of Surrey Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, extended condolences to the man’s family and friends.
“Our enquiries remain ongoing, and we would ask anyone who either witnessed the incident and has not yet spoken to police, or has any CCTV, dashcam, or helmet cam footage that may have captured all or part of this incident to get in touch,” Smith said.
Police confirmed that a man in his 80s voluntarily attended an interview in connection to the incident and has been released under further investigation.
