Man arrested after suspected Class A drugs found in Farnborough

Arrest follows foot chase and police officer assaulted

A man has been arrested after a quantity of suspected Class A drugs were discovered in Farnborough following a foot chase last night (Thursday 16th July).

Police officers noticed suspicious activity at Cypress Hill Court at around 7.20pm.

When approached, the man fled on foot, assaulting one officer in the process.

Shortly after, he was apprehended nearby.

A subsequent search revealed suspected Class A drugs and £320 in cash.

Further suspected drugs were found later in a sock during a custody search.

All items have been seized.

A 31-year-old man from Romford has been arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of Class A, being concerned in the supply of a Class A drug, and assault by beating of an emergency worker.

He remains in custody as enquiries continue.
