Man arrested after reports of racial abuse in Aldershot park

Police investigate racially abusive behaviour and assault charges

A man has been arrested in connection with disturbances at Municipal Gardens in Aldershot.

Police were called at 7.24pm on Tuesday 16th June following reports that a man was causing damage, assaulting people, and being racially abusive to members of the public.

After conducting several enquiries, officers arrested a 58-year-old man from Ash.

He is suspected of several offences, including assault occasioning actual bodily harm, common assault, affray, criminal damage, and racially aggravated public order offences.

The investigation into the incident continues.
