Man airlifted to hospital after firework exploded at Guildford home

A 50-metre safety cordon was set up while bomb disposal teams checked the area.

A man was taken to hospital by air ambulance in a critical condition after a firework went off and caused him injuries on Cedar Way in Guildford on Sunday (12 October).

As a precautionary measure a 50 metre evacuation zone was set up and an Explosive Ordnance Disposal team attended the scene to confirm the safety of the area.

Police don't believe there to be any third party involvement.
