Investigation launched after man suffered serious injuries following attack in Liss

It happened on the B3006 in Empshott, when two men stopped their cars and got into an argument

Police are appealing for information following a serious assault in Liss.

Officers were called after a disturbance on the B3006 in Empshott, near Liss, in the early hours of Tuesday 7 April at around 5:45am.

According to reports, two drivers pulled over and became involved in a confrontation in the roadway. The situation escalated, and one man is said to have attacked the other, leaving him with multiple facial fractures.

The suspect then reportedly left the scene in a white vehicle.

An investigation has since been opened. As part of their enquiries, officers arrested a 35-year-old man from Portsmouth on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent. He has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

Police believe there may have been several witnesses to the incident, as traffic was held up due to the vehicles stopping in the road, and are appealing for anyone who saw what happened to come forward.
