Plans for a new housing development featuring 62 residences in Hersham have been revealed.

The project, proposed by Ashill Land Ltd, aims to transform a 2.7-hectare site located south of Burwood Road with a mix of apartments and family houses.

In addition to the homes, the plans include the creation of access roads, open spaces, and a woodland walk.

The development promises to feature over a hectare of open space including a ‘natural playspace’ and a village green-style hub.

A woodland walk accessible to the public also forms part of the proposals.

Housing options will range from one- and two-bedroom flats to two- to four-bedroom houses, each with corresponding private or shared outdoor spaces.

New features such as a vehicular entrance on Burwood Road and pedestrian crossings will be part of the infrastructure improvements.

A separate pedestrian link leading to Turners Lane is also in the plans.

Developers highlighted that 31 of the proposed homes would be affordable, divided between affordable rent and shared ownership, contributing to Elmbridge Borough Council's housing goals.

Residents have until 8th May to comment on the application.

Elmbridge Borough Council will make a decision on the proposal at a later date.
