M3 closed near Farnborough after lorry fire
Three lanes remain closed as emergency services deal with the incident.
The M3 eastbound is closed near Farnborough after a lorry fire early this morning.
At around 05:20 this morning crews from the Surrey Fire & Rescue Service were sent to the fire. National Highways Traffic Officers arrived shortly afterwards and provided traffic management support.
Traffic was initially held whilst firefighters tackled the fire. The blaze was initially contained within the trailer. A decision was made to close the road when the fire re-ignited.
Drivers heading towards Woking are urged to follow diversion signs and expect delays.
Road users are advised to follow the Solid Diamond diversion symbol on road signs. Directions for the diversion are as follows:
Exit the M4 eastbound at J4 and take the 1st exit at the roundabout onto the A331 towards Reading/Wokingham
Continue to the next roundabout (The Meadows) and take the 4th exit to join the A30/London Road towards Staines/Cameberley
Remain on the A30 for approximately 5 miles to the roundabout with "Grove End" at Windlesham
Take the 3rd exit to join Grove End and then follow round to join the A322 south.
