Mourners have gathered at Guildford Cathedral to say final goodbyes to the Right Reverend Andrew Watson.

The Bishop of Guildford died on 3 March aged 64, less than a month after he announced he had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

The service was livestreamed, and shown at local churches across the diocese.

In a letter written shortly after his death, the Bishop of Dorking - the Right Reverend Paul Davies - said: “Whilst his family mourn the loss of a much-loved husband, father, grandfather, son and brother, we mourn the loss of a much-loved diocesan bishop – as well as an inspiring fellow disciple, dear brother in Christ, precious friend and special colleague.”

Earlier in the month, nearly 2,000 people attended an all-day prayer vigil at Guildford Cathedral, to show support for Bishop Andrew and his family.
