A complex police investigation has led to the sentencing of four individuals involved in a county drugs line operating across multiple regions, following joint efforts by Surrey and Sussex Police.

The probe began in May 2025, when officers discovered incriminating messages during an unrelated drugs inquiry, revealing a significant operation involving Class A substances.

The Centurion team, along with Surrey Police's Eastern Proactive Investigation Team, worked to identify those behind the network and how it functioned.

Mobile phone analysis played a vital role, with experts discovering marketing messages advertising drugs.

Key figures identified include Kenan Mitchell, 28, from Kent, linked to several phone numbers that coordinated the operation.

Investigators noted Mitchell’s luxurious lifestyle captured on video, which aided in unraveling the operation.

Linking Mitchell to Bridget Doherty, 24, from Essex, officers discovered Doherty’s active participation in the drugs line.

Jaipaul Johnson, 20, and Amish Patel, 43, both from Crawley, were also implicated through phone top-up transactions and direct involvement in drug delivery logistics.

The thorough investigation resulted in cutting down the Giant line, leading to the arrest of these perpetrators.

Upon arrest, Johnson possessed significant quantities of crack cocaine, heroin, cash, and mobile phones.

Searches at Doherty's residence, resulting in arrests of Doherty and Mitchell, uncovered cocaine and the primary Giant line phone.

Mitchell's linked locations yielded cash, cocaine, and drug supply paraphernalia.

Patel's home search revealed cocaine, a crossbow, and a knuckle duster, further underscoring his criminal involvement.

PC Geordie Logan stated, "This was an extremely complex investigation involving months of phone analysis, intelligence development and proactive policing activity."

He highlighted the impact of Class A drugs on communities and the successful dismantling of the network through police collaboration.

Sentencing took place at Guildford Crown Court on 3rd June:

  • Kenan Mitchell received six years and nine months' imprisonment.
  • Bridget Doherty received a 16-month suspended sentence over 24 months.
  • Jaipaul Johnson was sentenced to seven years and two months.
  • Amish Patel received two years and six months.

Authorities continue to encourage the reporting of drug-related concerns to tackle harmful activities perpetuated by such networks.
