Two men have been jailed for a total of more than eight years after attacking a man while armed with knives in Farnborough.

Dylan Manning and Elias Abdelmoumen, both 19-years-old, broke into the victim’s home on Alexandra Road on 17 May.

Once inside, Abdelmoumen threatened the 19-year-old victim – who was known to them – with a machete while Manning was armed with a large Rambo-style knife.

Abdelmoumen threatened to cut the victim’s arm off before Manning punched him in the face. The pair then stole designer clothing, accessories and cash and fled the scene.

Officers launched an investigation and attended Abdelmoumen’s home in Enfield and located a machete. Following a search of Manning’s address in Waltham Cross, officers located items believed to have been stolen from the victim.

The pair were charged with aggravated burglary and pleaded guilty. They were jailed for four years and five months each at Winchester Crown Court on Monday 27 October.

Police Staff Investigator Michael Longmore, from the Northern Area Crime Team, said: “The actions of both Manning and Abdelmoumen that day were extremely violent, reckless and dangerous.

“They carried out a terrifying and senseless attack inside the victim’s home and the result of their actions could have been a lot worse.

“Anyone who picks up a knife is making a decision which creates the very real risk that they could kill or seriously injure someone.

“We hope that anyone thinking of carrying a knife recognises that there are serious consequences both for themselves and others when they make that decision to pick up a weapon.

“Our officers will do everything in their power to ensure those who choose to carry knives are arrested, charged and put before the courts.”
