Aldershot played host to royalty this week as the Duchess of Edinburgh visited the town.
Her Royal Highness met with Shahid Azeem, the chairman of Aldershot Town FC to visit The Lighthouse to officially open the charity’s latest hub, which supports those in need.
Sophie is a patron of the organization and first became involved with the charity in 2020.
The Lighthouse offers a range of services including a community food larder, youth club, and a sensory play pre-school group.
During her visit, Her Royal Highness was also presented with an Aldershot Town FC Home shirt, to mark the Town’s historic upcoming first visit to Wembley Stadium in 99 years, to take part in the Isuzu FA Trophy Final on May 11.
She wished the Shots and their 17,000 travelling fans the very best of luck.
