Police are appealing for witnesses after a dog was attacked by another dog in Westcott on Sunday afternoon (25th May).

The dog- a Bichon Frise- has since died as a result of the injuries sustained during that attack.

The incident happened around 1pm on Westcott Street while the owners of the Bichon Frise were out walking when they came across three dogs and a child.

Two of the dogs were loose while the other one was on an extendable lead but was not wearing a muzzle.

The dog on the lead, described as similar-looking to an XL Bully, attacked the Bichon Frise, biting it in the stomach.

The injured dog was taken to an emergency vet, where it later died as a result of the injuries it had suffered.

Enquiries continue, but officers are really keen to talk to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or any other information which could help them trace the owners of the dog.
