Plans for over 100 new Surrey homes next to sports club revealed
Plans submitted for development on Woodthorpe Road site in Ashford
Plan have been unveiled to construct up to 104 homes on a field next to WR Sports Club in Ashford.
The proposal by Developers Welbeck Land includes a mix of flats and houses, with half designated as affordable housing.
Welbeck Land is seeking outline planning permission from Spelthorne Borough Council to transform the 1.15-hectare site on Woodthorpe Road into a new residential area.
Of the 104 homes, 72 will be flats arranged within a four-storey block, featuring units with one to three bedrooms.
The remaining 32 homes will consist of houses of two to three stories, offering three to four bedrooms each.
The development documents describe the site as previously part of the green belt, which has since been marked for development under the local plan.
Considered a "highly accessible location," the field is within walking distance to Ashford railway station, shops, and pubs.
According to the proposal, the site offers easy public transport access along with nearby key services and facilities.
The plan aims to provide a diverse array of homes, reflecting local housing needs in Spelthorne.
