Man, 80, denies wife's murder in Ashford

An 80-year-old man accused of murdering his wife has pleaded not guilty and is set to face trial next year.

David Ellis was charged with the murder of his wife, Jill Ellis, 78, following her unexpected death at their home in Junction Road, Ashford on 22nd May. Paramedics had called officers to the scene shortly after 14:00 BST, according to Surrey Police.

Ellis denied the charge at Guildford Crown Court on Monday, and his trial is scheduled to begin in January.
