A3 closed in Surrey following serious crash
The road has been shut overnight as police investigate the three car collision

The A3 remains closed in Surrey this morning (4 March) following a serious collision.
Surrey Police have confirmed three cars were involved in the crash on the Southbound side just before the Hindhead tunnel at around 6:30pm on on Tuesday evening (3 March).
The road has been closed overnight in both directions between the A31 and the A333 while officers carry out a collision investigation.
Diversion Routes
Road users are advised to follow the solid triangle diversion symbol on road signs if heading southbound
- Exit the A3 on to the A31 Hogs Back) westbound at Stag Hill, near Guildford.
- Continue to the roundabout with the A325 at Farnham.
- Take the first exit on to the A325.
- Continue to the Longmoor Interchange with the A3.
- Take the second exit on the roundabout to re-join the A3 Southbound.
Road users are advised to follow the solid diamond diversion symbol on road signs if heading northbound.
- From the A3 Longmoor exit slip take the 1st exit from roundabout A325.
- Follow the A325 along it's entire length to the A31/A325 roundabout at Farnham.
- Take the 3rd exit A31 towards Farnham.
- Follow to the Shepherd and Flock roundabout.
- At the roundabout , use the 3rd exit and continue for approx. 7 miles, on the A31 towards Guildford.
- On the approach to the A3, use the lane marked A3 (London) to re-join the A3 northbound.
