Sheep and lambs killed in dog attack
It happened over the weekend at Wormley
Around 30 lambs and 4 ewes have been killed in a dog attack at Wormley.
Surrey Police say a farmer found two brown/grey lurcher type animals in his field on Sunday morning (1st June) and after chasing them off discovered around half his flock were dead.
Rural crime officer PC Laura Rowley said. "This is a distressing incident for a local smallholder who has recently lambed and has had to pick up all but one of them dead from the dog attack.
"I cannot stress the importance of making sure boundaries are secure to keep your dogs in or making sure they are under full control if you take them out on a walk.”
"We are now looking to trace the dogs and their owner, and we need your help. Were you in the Wormley area at around 6.30am on Sunday morning? Do you recognise the description of these dogs and know who they belong to? Are these your dogs and did they return to you covered in blood that wasn’t theirs on Sunday morning?"
