18-year-old man killed in Yateley crash

Hampshire Police have confirmed an arrest has been made in connection with a collision last night

An investigation is underway after an 18-year-old man from Fleet died following a collision in Yateley.

The incident occurred on Saturday, 15th August just after 9:30pm on Cricket Hill Lane, involving a blue Ford Focus.

Emergency services attended the scene, and the young man was taken to hospital with serious injuries, where he later died.

Another 18-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries, while two other individuals sustained minor injuries.

Police have arrested an 18-year-old man from Fleet on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

He remains in custody.

Appeal for witnesses and information

Detective Sergeant Edward Crofts from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit has launched an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the collision.

“We are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or saw the car shortly beforehand in the A30/A327 roundabout area to come forward,” said Crofts.

“We would particularly like to hear from anyone with relevant dash cam or CCTV footage, if they have not already contacted us.

"Our thoughts remain with those affected by this incident, and specialist officers will be supporting the family of the 18-year-old man who passed away."
