Woman sexually assaulted in Ipswich park

Police are investigating after a woman was sexually assaulted in Ipswich.

It happened at Stonelodge Park between 12:45pm and 1:45pm on Wednesday 23 July.

A woman, aged in her 20s, and a man aged in his 30s met in the park, near the Royston Drive entrance to the park, before walking towards the other side of the park near the duck pond.

An allegation of sexual assault was later reported to police.

Officers are appealing for anyone who was walking in the park around the time, who may have seen a male and female, or heard anything suspicious to come forward as they may have information to assist with the investigation.

A man in his 30s has been arrested in connection with the incident and released on bail until Thursday 23 October pending further enquiries.

The victim is being supported by specialist officers.
