East Suffolk Council is reminding residents that Warm Welcome spaces are now open across the district for the winter months.

Formerly known as Warm Rooms, the spaces provide safe, warm places where people can meet others, connect with their community and access advice and support.

There are 16 Warm Welcome venues across East Suffolk, including libraries, churches and community buildings. They are open on various days during the week and at weekends.

Part funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, the spaces are free to visit. Many offer hot drinks, snacks or meals at a small cost, as well as activities such as books, games and arts and crafts.

Councillor Sarah Whitelock, East Suffolk Council’s cabinet member for Communities, Culture, Leisure and Tourism, said the venues help tackle isolation during the colder months and thanked the organisations continuing to support the scheme.
