Three charged after stabbing incident in Stowmarket involving 16-year-old boy

Suspects apprehended at train station; community urged to assist investigation

Three individuals have been charged in relation to a stabbing incident that took place in Stowmarket, involving a 16-year-old boy.

Police were alerted to the situation at the recreation ground on Finborough Road just before 8:30pm on Tuesday, 21st April, following reports from the East of England Ambulance Service of the victim's stab injuries.

It was reported that three suspects approached the victim before fleeing on foot.

Emergency services, including police, ambulance, and air ambulance crew, arrived promptly, and the boy was transported to hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

The suspects were arrested shortly after the incident at Stowmarket train station.

Tyler Arnold, 18, of Landseer Road in Ipswich, has been charged with assault causing grievous bodily harm and conspiracy to commit robbery.

A 17-year-old boy from Ipswich faces charges of assault causing GBH, conspiracy to commit robbery, and possession of a controlled class B drug, cannabis.

Additionally, a 16-year-old boy from Ipswich was charged with assault causing GBH, conspiracy to commit robbery, and possession of a bladed article, specifically a zombie knife, in a public place.

The accused have been remanded in custody and are scheduled to appear before Ipswich Magistrates’ Court today, 23rd April.

Police are conducting further searches in the local area to locate the weapon used in the attack, believed to be a large knife.

Detectives are urging local residents along various streets between the skate park and Stowmarket train station to inspect their gardens and bins for items that may have been discarded.

Authorities advise that any suspicious items should not be touched and should be left intact for police collection.
