Plans have been submitted to the council for a village dog walking park in Hascot Hill, Battisford.

Mark Smith is seeking approval from Mid Suffolk District Council to turn a grass meadow at the site, near Stowmarket, into a new dog walking and exercise park.

The site was previously used for livery.

A statement on his behalf said: “The proposal would provide a safe and confined space to exercise dogs in a rural setting without the need to keep dogs on a lead.”

Dog waste bins are included in the proposals, alongside plans to arrange commercial waste collections.

A new parking area would be provided.

According to planning documents, if approved, the park would be limited to daylight hours depending on the time of year and operate every day.

The council is now consulting on the application, with a deadline for a decision set for October 13.
