Residents of Martlesham have been urged to stay vigilant following reports of individuals impersonating personnel from Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS).

Three men reportedly offered free electrical checks on solar panel installations, claiming to be from the fire service.

They were seen in a Citroën van but lacked official uniform and identification.

Police have been informed about these incidents.

SFRS say personnel are required to carry an official ID card at all times, which includes a verification number for identity confirmation.

In cases of uncertainty, residents are advised against allowing anyone into their homes.

Suspicious activities should be reported to Suffolk Police by calling 101, or using 999 in emergencies.
