A charity in Suffolk supporting parents who have lost a child is urging anyone struggle this Mothers Day to reach out for support.

West Suffolk Sands was set up by bereaved parents to offer support to others who need it.

The charity tell us no matter what stage a parent has lost a child, Mothers Day brings back feelings of greif.

Isobel Eweing, from West Suffolk Sands, speaks from personal experience after losing her twin boys: " It's just about being there and going with it. Maybe giving suggestions, and if the mum doesn't want to then don't be disheartened."

"What we would suggest is, have a loose plan of what you want to do - something that doesn't have to be hard and fast. If you don't feel like doing it on the day then that's absolutely fine. Same as, if you want to change your mind then go ahead do something, maybe go for a walk.

"Be there for each other. Sometimes if you don't know what to say then it's best to say 'I don't know what to say, or do.' If there's something we can do then please ask. But, don't ignore the fact, don't go over the score with it either - be guided by the mum"

"Mothers who have got older children, or go on to have other children after babies they've lost they're conflicted because they're happy they've got children but it doesn't mean to say they've forgotten the baby that's died. They're being pulled in all directions."

"When you have other children they get caught in all of the excitement and it's special for them to show how much they love their mums and it's special for the mums to feel that. But, there could well be that little niggle that there should be somebody else there."

If you, or someone you know is struggling, you can reach out to West Suffolk Sands for support.
