A man from Ipswich has been jailed for assaulting victims in St Albans and Stevenage.
Michael Irving, 29, was sentenced to two years imprisonment for an attack on St Peters Street, St Albans, which occurred at around 1.20am on 14th September last year.
The assault left a man unconscious with fractures to his cheek and nose.
After being captured on CCTV heading towards Hatfield Road in a taxi, Irving gave a false name and fled from officers but was apprehended after a foot chase.
He was charged with causing grievous bodily harm (GBH) without intent and criminal damage after misbehaving in police custody.
Irving received a concurrent sentence of 15 months for an unprovoked attack in Stevenage on 22nd December 2024 at the Drapers Arms pub.
The victim sustained a wound leading to a lifelong scar and a broken nose.
Detective Constable Luke O’Gorman commended the victims for their cooperation and acknowledged their recovery after the violent incidents.
"I am pleased to say they are recovering well after suffering awful injuries which required immediate first aid," DC O’Gorman said.
"Irving is a dangerous criminal and will now have time to reflect on his actions behind bars."
