Sex offender from Ipswich jailed for two years

A sixty year old man from Ipswich's starting a two year prison sentence - after police discovered he’d sent over fifteen thousand messages about child sexual abuse - on a secret social media account

Officers found deleted chats and searches for indecent images of children on David Landin’s phone.

David Landin, of Foxhall Road in Ipswich, appeared at Ipswich Crown Court yesterday,

Public Protection Unit Officer Alice Barham said: “Landin is a disturbing individual with a clear interest in the sexual abuse of children.

“Court orders such as Sexual Harm Prevention Orders are there to protect the public. Our Public Protection Unit at Suffolk Constabulary ensures offenders on a SHPOs are closely monitored and adhere to the conditions imposed on them.

“Accessing or downloading indecent images of children is not a victimless crime. Each image represents a child that has been abused. We will continue to bring those who possess and share such content to justice.”
