Police appeal after woman seriously inured in Ipswich collision

It happened on Burrell Road this morning (Thursday 11 December) where the driver failed to stop and left the scene

Suffolk Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious road traffic collision in Ipswich today (Thursday 11 December).

Officers were called at 7:22am to reports of a collision on Burrell Road involving a woman pedestrian and a silver BMW car. Police say the driver failed to stop and left the scene.

The woman sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision and has been taken to hospital where her condition is described as life-threatening.

Following the collision police located the car believed to have be involved in Ipswich and arrested a man in his 30’s in connection with the incident. He has been taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning.

Police are appealing for witnesses and asking any motorists driving in the area with a dashcam fitted in their vehicle, to review the footage for any material that may be of assistance.
