Police appeal after a reported sexual assault in Lowestoft

A woman in her 20s reported walking along the beach when a man touched her inappropriately

Suffolk police are investigating a report of a sexual assault in Lowestoft.

The incident is reported to have taken place around 11pm on Wednesday 8 April on the beach, near the East Point Pavillion off Marine Parade.

A woman aged in her 20s reported that she was walking along the beach when a man approached her and offered her a hug. He is said to have intentionally touched her inappropriately.

He is described as white, approximately 5ft 8ins in height, of skinny build and was wearing jeans, a jacket and a beige baseball cap. He is believed to have left the scene on a bicycle.

Anyone with information is being urged to contact police in order to support their investigation.
