Police appeal after man assaulted in Chantry area of Ipswich

A man sustained serious injuries following an assault in the Chantry area of Ipswich on Friday night.

The incident occurred on Hawthorn Drive at some point between 9:15pm and 9:25pm.

The victim, a man aged in his 40s, sustained broken ribs and a serious head injury. He was taken to hospital by ambulance and is currently in a serious, but stable, condition.

A police cordon is currently in place whilst enquires continue.
