Northampton man given seven years in prison for Suffolk rape

The 25-year-old was found guilty of multiple offences at Northampton Crown Court

A man from Northampton, has been sentenced to seven years in prison after being found guilty of rape and assault charges.

25 year old Liam Patrick Kieran Blanchfield raped and verbally abused a woman in Ipswich in June 2025.

Following a trial at Northampton Crown Court, Blanchfield was found guilty of the offences on 24th February. He returned to the court to receive his sentence.

In addition to the prison term, he was issued an indefinite restraining order to protect the survivor.

The survivor shared that the conclusion of the case allows her to live in peace.

Lead investigator PC Kimberly Streuli praised her bravery, stating, “The strength she has shown has been instrumental in securing this conviction and ensuring a dangerous offender is held accountable for his actions."

PC Streuli added, “Northamptonshire Police take all reports of sexual offences extremely seriously. Tackling violence against women and girls remains a key priority for the Force, and we are committed to supporting victims and pursuing offenders relentlessly."
