Police reveal identity of man killed in lorry crash at Nacton

The police have identified the man who died in a serious collision on the A14 at Nacton.
67-year-old Tony Warner from Ilketshall St Lawrence was involved in a crash at around 9am on Monday, 27th April, when a lorry and a silver Ford S-Max collided on the westbound carriageway.
Mr Warner, the driver of the car, was pronounced dead at the scene despite the efforts of ambulance and Suffolk Fire and Rescue crews.
Two passengers in the car were hospitalised but did not sustain severe injuries.
Mr Warner’s family has expressed their heartfelt thanks to the emergency services personnel and the public who offered assistance.
Police arrested a 50-year-old man from Newmarket on suspicion of causing death by careless driving.
He has been released on bail pending further investigation, with a date set for 13th July 2026.
The collision led to the temporary closure of the A14 in both directions, which has since reopened.
Authorities are seeking witnesses and any dashcam footage that may aid their investigation.
