Man charged with murder after death of woman in Ipswich
A 28-year-old woman died earlier this week
A man has been charged with murder following the death of a woman in Ipswich earlier this week.
Suffolk Police were called out at around 1am on Tuesday (10 March) after concerns were raised about a woman at an address in Russet Road.
Officers arrived to find a 28 year old woman unresponsive.
She was pronounced dead shortly afterwards, and the force confirmed her death was being treated as suspicious.
A Home Office post-mortem examination which took place on Wednesday (11 March), found the cause of death is pending further investigation.
A 39-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder in the early hours of Tuesday morning. Detectives made an application for a warrant of further detention and were granted an additional 29 hours to question the suspect.
Paul Stevenson, of Fletcher Road in Ipswich, has now been charged with murder.
He has been remanded in custody to appear before Ipswich Magistrates’ Court on Thursday (12 March).
