Man attacked in Bury St Edmunds
It's thought to have been racially-motivated
Police are appealing for witnesses to an assault in Bury St Edmunds.
Officers received a report, on Sunday 24 August 2025, that man aged in his 60s had been assaulted at some point between 620pm and 630pm. It took place between the wooded area of Cumberland Avenue and the Marham Park estate in Bury St Edmunds.
At this stage, officers believe it to be racially motivated. The victim sustained cuts to his head.
The victim's dog was also thrown into the bushed area of the woods. The suspects were on bicycles, accompanied by a young child, who then continued to cycle off through Cumberland Avenue, towards Severn Road.
Police have an image of the people they would like to speak to in connection with the incident.
