Road closures in place as police deal with altercation
Emergency services are actively addressing an incident in Lowestoft that began with reports of a disturbance and physical altercation on Grosvenor Road.
Officers were called at approximately 6.45 pm on 18th July, involving a small group of people.
Scene Response and Arrests
In the progression of events, a male suspect was spotted on St John's Road and proceeded to climb onto a property's roof, where he continues to remain.
Police presence includes specialist officers, alongside fire and ambulance services, and road closures are enforced on St John's Road and Mill Road to facilitate the ongoing operation.
During the initial response, authorities discovered an injured 40-year-old man, who was tended to by paramedics and subsequently transported to the hospital. He has been arrested on suspicion of robbery and is being questioned at the Great Yarmouth Police Investigation Centre.
Additionally, in connection with the disturbance, a 13-year-old boy was taken into custody at 7.35 pm on charges of common assault, obstructing a police officer, and assaulting an emergency worker. He is also at the Great Yarmouth PIC for questioning.
The situation remains fluid, and the presence of emergency services persists as they work towards resolving the incident.
