Witnesses sought after road rage attack in Ipswich injures bus driver
Police appeal following assault on Ravenswood Avenue
Suffolk Police are appealing for witnesses following a road rage incident in Ipswich that resulted in an assault.
The incident occurred around 3:35pm on Saturday, 1st August, on Ravenswood Avenue involving the drivers of a bus and a grey BMW.
Cars initially travelled the wrong way down the bus lane between Maryon Road and Ravenswood Avenue but reversed to allow the bus to pass.
As the bus reached a grey car, the driver yelled at the bus driver, prompting him to halt.
The car's driver exited his vehicle, reportedly shouting and swearing, before punching the bus driver through the open window.
Upon leaving his bus to note down the car registration, the bus driver was punched again, causing him to fall.
The car driver then left the scene.
The bus driver was taken to hospital to treat a broken nose, facial lacerations requiring stitches, as well as other grazes and bruising.
The suspect is described as a man in his 40s to 50s, approximately 5ft 4ins tall, with grey curly hair and a short-trimmed grey beard.
Police are urging witnesses to the incident to come forward.
